PREDOCTORAL TRAINING
Predoctoral graduate training emphasizes cancer research within the Case Biomedical Sciences Training Program (BSTP). Trainees conduct thesis research under the guidance of Cancer Center faculty in the Ph.D. degree granting programs of Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Genetics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology and Biophysics. The first year includes the BSTP core academic program. In the second year, didactic course work focuses on cancer research. In addition, graduate training leading to the combined MD and PhD degrees is available through the Case Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). This ROTG training program is for a minimum of two years.
POSTDOCTORAL TRAINING
The postdoctoral training program integrates training in basic science under the direction of Cancer Center faculty who apply multidisciplinary approaches to fundamental problems in oncology. Recent PhD or MD degree recipients may apply for postdoctoral cancer research training available in the laboratories of accomplished scientists who are members of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. The training period is for a minimum of two years.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Postdoctoral Candidates: PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree by the start of the training.
Predoctoral Candidates: Completed baccalaureate degree and enrolled in a Case Biomedical Science Training Program leading to a PhD.
All candidates need to have proof of U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency (green card).
